Boney: Couple Budget & Bills

Boney is the shared household ledger. As a couple, with flatmates or as a family, everyone adds their own expenses and Boney works out who owes who, with the split you chose. No bank connection, no ads, and everyone keeps their personal side.

Who owes who, day to day
From the home screen, you see what's left for the month and where things stand between you: who owes how much, and who is owed. Settling up becomes something you read, not something you work out at the end of the month.

Personal stays personal
Your personal budgets and your shared budgets live in the same app, each on its own side: the rent and the food shop on one side, your own spending on the other. Only what you put in common is shared: a couple budget that keeps your accounts separate, with or without a joint account.

50/50 or 60/40, you two decide
Equal split, shares or custom amounts: you set each person's share together. If you'd rather split in proportion to income, you enter the percentages and Boney applies them. 50/50 is a choice like any other.

Rent and bills, set up once
Rent, council tax, energy, broadband, subscriptions: you set up each recurring bill once, and Boney adds it on the due date. You split the bills the way you agreed, without redoing the sums every month. One less thing to think about.

You add it, Boney does the maths
You enter the amount, the budget and who paid. Boney applies the budget's split and updates who owes who. With two, three or four people, the household budget stays fair and easy to read.

Your statement, no bank link
CSV statement import is free: you pick the file exported from your bank, check each line, and only debits are kept. With Premium, you can also import a statement or a document as a photo or PDF. No bank connection needed: Boney never connects to your bank.

For flatmates and families too
Split the bills in a shared flat, from energy to the weekly shop, or keep a family budget, children included. Everyone sees who owes what. From three people in a budget, Premium is needed.

Set a monthly target for each budget: you see what's spent, what's coming up and what's left to spend. Your couple budget or household budget fits on one screen.

Your money never goes through Boney
Boney makes no payments and never touches your money: it works things out from what you add. All sensitive data is encrypted, secured, and stored in Europe in compliance with applicable regulations. Boney does not sell your data.

On iPhone, Android and the web
Boney is a native app on iPhone and Android, and a full web app at boney.app that you can install on Mac, Windows and Linux. Your budgets stay in sync across your devices.

The free version, with no time limit, covers 3 budgets and 2 people per budget, with unlimited expenses, income and recurring bills, CSV import and 30 days of history in the analytics. No ads, free or Premium.
Premium unlocks unlimited budgets and people, for flatmates or a family of three or more, full history, photo and PDF import, data export and priority support. Premium is activated in the app, as an in-app purchase.
