About this game

Reweave is a game where children meet real people from around the world.

Every island belongs to one real person. Your child watches their film, which has no words on purpose, explores their island step by step, reads their true story in an illustrated storybook with bonus tales, grows a garden along the way, and makes a real recipe or project from that person's story with you. Then a message leads your child to the next island.

Postcards bring more real people. Turn a card over for a few lines from their real story and a question to wonder about. Watch their film, write what you noticed on the back, and for many of them, come back another day: a paper plane brings the next chapter.

The islands float on one open sea. Drag to sail between them and pinch to zoom in. Each island has its own real daylight, worked out from your clock and the place where we filmed that person, so when it is night on Irfan's island, its lights come on. Every person your child meets becomes a thread back home, and the butterfly flies the whole weave as your child meets more people.

New in 3.1: three new islands. Meet Isaias, from Santiago, on the shores of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala: when we filmed, he carried a travelling library of books and songs to schools and to the elders of his town. Meet Reginah, from the Maasai Mara in Kenya: when we filmed, she made butter by hand, built strong sheep fences with her family and taught them what she learned at school. Meet Daniel, from the Cape Winelands of South Africa: when we filmed, he looked after solar power in homes across his community and loved to sit high on the hill.

What is inside: dozens of real people from around the world, on nine islands and on postcards, each with their own wordless film. Illustrated storybooks with bonus tales, recipes and projects to make together. The menu comes in 11 languages.

For grownups there is one corner, behind a question only a grownup can answer: your child's weave and what they wrote, exactly as they wrote it; their films again, with the faces and notes they chose; how the game plays; plans; about us; help. It locks again when you leave.

Free to start: five islands, ten films, and every postcard's first card and notes. Premium opens the other four islands and the remaining 28 films, with a Monthly or Yearly subscription or a Lifetime purchase paid once. Prices are shown in Google Play in your currency. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in Google Play at least a day before the period ends.

No ads. No account. No analytics or tracking. What your child writes is saved on the device and never sent to us. Films stream over the internet.

Reweave is made by a small nonprofit. We make wordless films and real human stories about people from around the world, so kids can practice curiosity before judgment.

Reweave is such a beautiful and thoughtful app. It uses wordless films and story maps to help kids (and adults) explore empathy, culture, and connection in ways that feel playful and profound. The design is simple, calming, and clearly made with care. I especially love how the stories invite reflection without feeling preachy — they spark great conversations. My only wish is for an offline mode and maybe a few more stories from around the world. It's one of the most original apps I've seen!

Wordless stories breathe, Playful hearts in calm design. Empathy takes root. Thank you for such a thoughtful review.. in reply, a haiku. We’re so glad Reweave invites reflection and sparks conversation, and we’re working on more global stories soon. Offline mode is a great idea. We will look into it. Thank you for this feedback!

What’s new

New in 3.2: Louis, Laura, Yuvaraaj and Dayna join the sea, each with an island and storybooks of their own. Dayna's island is free for everyone; the other three islands are part of Premium. Reginah's, Daniel's, Shantanu's and Isaias's islands have a fresh look, Shantanu's storybook is all new, and there's a quick tour for grown-ups. Plus easier swipes and small fixes.
